Joni Tamalonis is a nonprofit leader with over 30 years of diverse experience in program management.
Her areas of expertise include grants management, program evaluation and strategic planning.
She has professional experience as a senior-level manager leading programs through creative problem-solving and the implementation of complex initiatives that dramatically improve outcomes.
She is currently the program director of Kentucky Access to Recovery (KATR) a program designed to assist individuals in the early stages of recovery from substance use disorder.
Joni is the former director of evaluation at the National CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Association, where she worked for 10 years assisting programs in the uniform collection of outcome data.
This work included the roll out of a CASA specific database from development to implementation.
Joni has experience presenting to large and small audiences, including teaching workshops on non-profit program evaluation.
She finds great reward assisting organizations to stay true to their missions through the development of strategic plans, the creation of program goals, and program evaluation.
Joni holds a strong belief that organizations that evaluate for quality and potential program improvement are better positioned to serve more clients with a higher level of service.
Joni is a doctoral student at the University of Kentucky’s College of Social Work and holds a Master of Social Work from Spalding University and a BA in Humanities from the University of Washington.
