As a clinician and advocate, I strive to help individuals align with their strengths, challenge their negative thinking, and begin to fulfill the purpose of their life.
My practice approach is strengths-based, social justice informed, and trauma informed.
Through empathy and understanding, identity is restored, and liberation becomes attainable.
I enjoy utilizing solution focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing techniques, trauma-focused -cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, cognitive processing therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
My previous clinical experiences include intensive in-home therapy, therapeutic foster care, private practice, and school-based services.
I am humbled to be able to help guide adolescents and young adults along their healing journey.
The race-based bias of some white teachers can be detrimental to the well-being of Black adolescents.
Unconscious or conscious race-based bias can increase race-based stress experienced by Blacks students and lead to racial trauma.
Racial trauma can alter the adolescent stage of development and have significant psychological impact on Black adolescents, I strive to bring awareness to this issue, and it’s influence on the school to prison pipeline reality for Black adolescents.
