Karen Durham is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and current Doctorate of Social Work student.
Throughout her career, she has worked within the criminal justice system, homeless services, health care, and the military.
Karen currently works as a Military Family Life Counselor, focusing on children and youth behavioral issues.
Her research areas of interest include women and children, postpartum depression, and military family dynamics.
She has helped reestablish the Military Family Life Counselor role overseas on bases in Okinawa, Japan, after a hiatus due to COVID-19.
In the future, Karen hopes to work toward more research and publishing on the military spouse population, and teaching or supervising the next generation of social workers.
